Draco's hardwound roll (HRT) paper towel dispensers come in two versions: AutoCut (manual mechanical) and SensorCut (touchless sensor-operated). Both use the same paper rolls and mount the same way. The difference is how the towel is dispensed.
Side-by-Side Comparison
| AutoCut (Manual) | SensorCut (Touchless) | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | User pulls towel, mechanical blade cuts automatically | Infrared sensor detects hand, motor feeds and cuts towel |
| Power source | Fully mechanical — no batteries, no electronics | 4x D-cell alkaline batteries |
| Towel length | Fixed length per pull | Adjustable: 200, 240, 280, or 320mm |
| Maintenance | Zero downtime, nothing to replace | Low battery indicator, ~60 rolls per battery set |
| Hygiene | User touches towel during pull | Hands-free, no-touch dispensing |
| Cost | Lower upfront | Higher upfront, but adjustable length reduces waste |
| Available sizes | Maxi (5100-5), Midi (5300-5), Mini (5500-5) | Maxi (5200-5), Midi (5400-5), Mini (5600-5) |

When to Choose AutoCut
- Budget is the priority. No batteries means no ongoing power cost and no downtime from dead batteries.
- Reliability matters most. Fully mechanical means nothing electronic can fail. Ideal for facilities with limited maintenance staff.
- High-volume, fast-paced environments. No sensor delay — pull and go. Airports, stadiums, factories.
- Planning to upgrade later. AutoCut dispensers use the same paper as SensorCut. Switch to sensor later without changing consumables.
When to Choose SensorCut
- Hygiene is critical. Hospitals, clinics, food processing, clean rooms. Touchless dispensing eliminates cross-contamination at the towel dispenser.
- Waste control. Adjustable towel length means you can fine-tune usage. Shorter towels for restrooms, longer for kitchen use.
- Premium facility image. Sensor dispensers signal modernity and attention to hygiene. Hotels, corporate headquarters, medical offices.
- ADA or accessibility considerations. Touchless operation is easier for users with limited hand strength or mobility.
Paper Compatibility
Both AutoCut and SensorCut accept the same hardwound roll paper:
| Size | Roll Spec | Compatible Paper |
|---|---|---|
| Maxi and Midi | 8" diameter, 1.5" core | P2H800 (800ft), P2H600 (600ft), P2H400 (400ft) |
| Mini | 6" diameter, 1.5" core | P2H400 (400ft) only |
All Draco HRT dispensers are universal — they accept any brand of hardwound roll towel with a 1.5" core and matching diameter.
